Staining 256' of Board-on-Board in The Trails at Tascosa

There is nothing quite like the rolling greens and luxury homes at the Trails at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo. We recently had the pleasure of heading out to this beautiful new development to protect and beautify a massive, brand-new fence that truly stands out from the crowd.

The Project: 256’ of 7’ Board on Board Fence

This wasn’t your average backyard fence. We were tasked with staining 256’ of 7’ tall board-on-board fencing. Because the fence is installed on a retaining wall, it sits high and proud, making it a major focal point for the property. With board-on-board construction, you get total privacy, but you also get a lot of surface area. To ensure this investment lasts through the harsh Texas Panhandle sun and wind, a professional-grade stain was non-negotiable.

The Process: Clean Lines and Deep Penetration

At West Texas Stain & Restoration, we don't just "spray and go." For a high-end project like this, the details matter:

Masking the Concrete: Since this fence sits directly on a retaining wall, precision was key. We meticulously masked off the concrete to ensure zero overspray or staining on the hardscape.

Back-brushing for Quality: To get that deep, rich finish, we back-brushed the stain into the wood grain. This manual technique ensures the wood absorbs every drop of protection.

The Perfect Product: We used Expert Stain & Seal (Semi-Transparent) in the customer-favorite color: Pecan.

The Result: A "Pecan" Finish That Pops

The transformation was instant. The Pecan semi-transparent stain allowed the natural beauty of the wood grain to shine through while providing a warm, sophisticated glow that made the entire yard "pop."

The best part? The customer pointed out that the new Pecan finish perfectly matches the family dog! It’s not every day we get to color-match a fence to a furry best friend, but in this case, the coordination was spot on.
